Learning And Teaching Functions

Setting switch points

For ultrasonic sensors with switching outputs, the corresponding two switching points can be set.

Setting is achieved by connecting the TEACH-IN learning cable to the power supply -UB or +UB, respectively, and the connection time is at least three blinks of

the LED. During setup, the LEDs indicate whether the sensor has detected a target or not.

The TEACH-IN learning cable is set to point A1 when connected to -UB and to point A2 when connected to +UB.

The following five different output functions can be selected:

1. window mode, normally open 2. window mode, normally closed

3. Switch point mode, normally open 4. Switch point mode, normally closed 5. Object presence detection mode

Window mode, normally open

1. Place the object near the switching point

2. Connect the TEACH-IN learning cable to the -UB Setting A1 point until it is green and the indicator light blinks more than 3 times, disconnect it.

3. Place the target at the far switch point.

4. Set TEACH-IN LEARNING CABLE CONNECTION +UB to point A2 until it is green and the indicator light blinks more than 3 times, then disconnect.

Window mode, normally closed

1. Place the target at the near switch point

2. Set the TEACH-IN Learning Cable Connection + UB to point A2 until it is green and the indicator light blinks more than 3 times, disconnect.

3. Place the target at the far switch point.

4. Set TEACH-IN LEARNING CABLE CONNECTION-UB to point A1 until it is green and the indicator light blinks more than 3 times, then disconnect.

Switch point mode, normally open

1. Place the target at the near switch point.

2. Set TEACH-IN LEARNING CABLE CONNECTION +UB to point A2 until green, indicator light blinks more than 3 times, disconnect.

3. Cover the sensor with your hand or move away all objects within the sensor detection range until the red indicator light blinks more than 3 times to disconnect.

4. Connect the TEACH-IN learning cable to the UB to set point A1.

Switch point mode, normally closed

1. Place the target near the switch point.

2. Set TEACH-IN LEARNING CABLE CONNECTION-UB to point A1 until the green LED blinks more than 3 times to disconnect.

3. Cover the sensor with your hand or move away all objects within the sensor detection range until the red indicator light blinks more than 3 times to disconnect.

4. Connect the TEACH-IN learning cable to the +UB to set point A2.

Object presence detection mode

1. Cover the sensor with your hand or remove all objects within the detection range of the sensor.

2. Set TEACH-IN LEARNING CABLE CONNECTION-UB to point A1 until the red LED blinks 3 times or more, then disconnect.

3. Connect the TEACH-IN learning cable to the + UB to set point A2 until the red indicator light blinks 3 times or more, then disconnect.
