Challenge; Sensor response speed and accuracy required The crankshaft is a vital component of any engine, converting the linear motion of the pistons into rotational motion. An uneven crankshaft can compromise the balance of the motor and generate heat and vibration that can cause equipment failure. To prevent future mechanical failures, tight runout tolerances must be set and parts must be tested frequently for errors.

Challenge: Detecting incorrectly placed products at high speed Depending on the application, the smallest error can lead to a serious failure later, so precise inspection is essential. In the packaging industry, some small objects need to be distinguished from the front and back, such as bottle caps. We need to quickly detect whether all bottle caps are placed correctly to ensure smooth production. The HC-S laser displacement sensor can easily distinguish the height difference of small objects.

Challenge: Ensure accurate, consistent detection of metal disc thickness Automotive metal stamping requires specific thickness to ensure parts are identical and to ensure dies are not damaged in the process. As the metal sheets move down the conveyor, laser displacement sensors measure the metal sheets at a very precise scale to ensure they are the correct thickness. In this sheet metal stamping application, it is important that the frame brackets and other metal parts are identical and that the dies are not damaged to prevent downtime and costly repairs. The HC-H Series laser displacement sensors have high repeatability and can measure thickness in the micron range, enabling quick and accurate measurement of sheet metal thickness.

Challenge: Detecting the roll diameter of different color rolls In the consumer packaged goods industry, labels need to be applied to products quickly and accurately to keep production levels high. Accurately monitoring the diameter of the label roll and controlling the unwind speed helps ensure a smooth process. A solution is needed that accurately reports the level of material on the roll to prevent running out of material and delaying production. The HC-S laser displacement sensor is not affected by color transitions and has an extremely linear output, allowing for reliable monitoring of multi-color label rolls.

Challenge: Defective products need to be discovered in time as they pass by. In manufacturing, the flatness of products on the production line is a very important factor. Warping or missing products will cause huge losses. The HC-S series laser displacement sensors have a repeatability accuracy of microns, and can detect even small changes on the production line to ensure the flatness of the production line.

Challenge: It is necessary to detect defective products in time when the products pass by. Check whether the products are processed in place and distinguish the unprocessed defective products. Use two HC-S laser displacement sensors to measure the processed parts of the products. When the value deviates greatly, the output signal can be used to distinguish the defective products.

Challenge: Dark Materials Absorb Light, and Webs Move Fast Like many industrial sensing applications, web and edge guidance applications often involve targets that are traditionally difficult for sensors to detect, including clear, reflective, and very dark targets. In addition to the texture, reflectivity, and translucency of the material, the high speeds of web-guiding equipment can challenge the sensor’s ability to detect and reliably measure the material. Using the ELD-1050 through-beam laser displacement sensor to measure the distance from the end of the detection range to the edge of the target provides real-time access to distance parameters.

Challenge: Long-distance detection without contact with the object to be detected
Using the 30MG series ultrasonic sensor, the remaining material level can be measured. It can be installed up to 6 meters away from the target. At this distance, the sensor will not interfere with system operation or contact with the equipment or process. It can also receive analog quantities or obtain real-time material level information through 485 communication.

Challenge: High linearity requirements for sensors HC-S series laser displacement sensors have high linearity and can accurately measure the height of the current material, thereby determining the remaining amount of the stack and ensuring that there is enough material at all times. The digital display can be used to observe the current measured height in real time, and the current value can also be output in analog form to accurately refill the material.

Challenge: It is necessary to detect whether a hole is drilled at a designated location when the product passes by. Drilling is a common processing process, and it is also common for holes to be missed. The HC-S laser displacement sensor is used to detect each hole position, even the holes that are not completely drilled.

Challenge: Precision positioning required
Solution: HC-H Series Laser Displacement Sensors
HC-H laser displacement sensors are extremely accurate for precision positioning applications, including engine block positioning. The sensor can measure nearly any surface, such as cast iron or aluminum alloys, which are commonly used in the manufacture of engine blocks. Displacement and target thickness measurements are available via 4-20 mA analog or RS-485 digital communication outputs.

Challenge: Need to remotely set up sensors to ensure sensor stability When performing multi-point flatness testing, it is necessary to ensure the consistency and stable installation of sensors. Even pressing a button will cause the value to change, so we need to remotely monitor and set up sensors. Through HC-S series 485 communication, we can not only obtain current data in real time, but also remotely set various sensor parameters to ensure sensor stability.
